Zugspitzbahn construction site, December 2023

The Zugspitzbahn, a railroad line with a unique track gauge of exactly one meter, is a remarkable example of technical precision and adaptation to difficult environmental conditions. Our work began on a Tuesday, and we spent a week in the middle of a snow-covered landscape, favored by bright sunshine. Our main goal was to complete a total of 185 welds, a demanding task that required both expertise and perseverance. The challenges of this type of work in such an environment are many, from ensuring the precision of the welding work to coping with the extreme weather conditions. Despite the difficulties, the breathtaking surroundings of the Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany, provided an inspiring backdrop to our work. Every day on the line was a balancing act between maintaining high safety standards and making efficient progress to achieve the ambitious goal. This experience was not only a demonstration of technical skill, but also a testament to the perseverance and dedication of the team working together in these special circumstances.

Thormählen fit for Scandinavia

This year we also want to fully enter Scandinavia again. In June 7 welding teams from Force and Jernbaneverket were trained for this purpose. Already in July all teams were in operation in Oslo. Our customer was enthusiastic about the quality of the work and the motivation of the colleagues. Now it should go on…
