There are two different methods of arc welding of rails. In manual arc welding with a coated rod electrode, the arc burns between the electrode clamped in the electrode holder and the live rail. When joint welding with flux-cored wire using a wire feed unit, the welding process is continuous, so that a higher output can be achieved here.
